I am going to attempt to have a more up-to-date blog and keep up with it at least weekly. I am the lead ESL - Dual Language facilitator in my district and am very passionate about helping students learn a second language. I believe the best gift you can give a child is a second language. On the ESL side of my job I work with learners in the classroom to support their English learning in the content areas. I also work with teachers as they plan their lessons to ensure appropriate strategies and modifications are in place. On the Dual Language side of my job I work with the learners, teachers, administration, and the parents to ensure we have the best program in the area. My hope with the relaunch of the blog is provide strategies, resources, links and whatever else I come across that has been useful for us.
Besides work, I have a wonderful husband who is also a teacher and is the IB coordinator for our district. We have been married 14 years in September. We have 3 beautiful daughters. Our middle daughter is in the dual language program and our youngest is in a Spanish Immersion preschool. It is a constant journey supporting them in their language learning while learning with them.
