iPAD apps

As we are getting started with the year I have been looking for Spanish Apps for our Dual Language classrooms.
I found a list on MommyMaestra that has a list of 5 apps. I have included the link here for you. I am still learning how to make it work as an actual link. I'll fix it as soon as I learn how. This is a wonderful blog to follow for resources and research.

Have a great Friday

My principal just sent this graphic to all of the dual language teachers at my school. I think it is really cool and could be used in many different ways in the classroom.
I'm not sure where it come from but was sent in an email from Grisel Gallardo. If you know more about where the original came from please let me know.

Some of the ways off the top of my head are:
1. To introduce different technology tools
2. To have at the computer/iPAD station as a reference tool
3. To brainstorm ways to use the different tools

How would you use this tool?

On to more school prep. Have a great day.

Winding Down

The summer is quickly coming to a close. My family and I are starting to gather all the things we need for the new school year. As I get back into the swing of things for school, I have been on Pinterest pinning away strategies for ESL/DLI classrooms.

I have also participated in an online book study using Edmodo with my district. We read The Passion Driven Classroom by Angela Maiers and Amy Sandvold. Angela presented at our district summer conference and was phenomenal. The book is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone looking to transform their classroom, building,or just yourself. It is the main reason I have decided to begin really blogging. In the book it encourages you to define what Passion means. Passion for me is about doing something you most likely love, but also something that you think about all the time, even when the going gets tough. It reaffirmed for me that language learning for the young or old is what I'm passionate about.

I have also restarted following my twitter feed. One of my goals this year to better understand how manage my feed to get the most out of it and really have a professional learning network (PLN) there.
